Dear Admissions Committee;

I am writing this cover letter because of my strong desire to study at your distinguished program.  Please allow me to introduce myself briefly.

As for my schooling and experience, I graduated from the 0000 National University¡¯s Dental School, earning scholarships based on my outstanding academic performance. In particular, I was conferred with full scholarship that is granted to the top 5% as my GPA was always over 4.0.  During the graduation, I was conferred with the commemoration certificate from the Korean Dental Association as the representative of the graduating class. Since then, I underwent training at the Korean Orthodontic Research Institute after which I opened up my own dental practice in December 1998, treating general and corrective cases£®At the above mentioned institute, I focused on the study of Tweed concept, and I am using this method to treat all my patients£®My continual quest for knowledge and practical training lead me to engage continuously in many clinical studies and various training programs.  Moreover, I majored in orthodontic at the graduate school.

Now, I am ready to study in the US where the field of dentistry is more advanced than that in Korea. My plan is to first complete the study, and then to obtain DDS in the US.  With the license in hand, I would like to undergo training in a hospital affiliated with a US school. And if conditions would allow it, I would like to pursue a PhD degree in the same field.  Upon return, I would like to work as a staff member or as a professor at a university to treat patients and to teach students at the same time. 

I am particularly interested in University of Pennsylvania because of your long-held fame, and research track record. Also, it is known as a school that balances the theoretical and practical aspects well.  I am sure that with my extensive dentistry experience, I could add significant value to the school while learning extensively from it.
