School
English as a Second Language Summer Program for Girls, and it will run
this year from July 13-August 10 for girls ages 9 to 13. |
Cardigan
Mountain School
The Cardigan Mountain Summer
Session was instituted in 1951 to meet the needs of four groups of
students — those who require intensive work in basic academic
skills, those who desire review, those who desire advanced work or
enrichment, and those who are candidates for entrance to Cardigan in the
fall.
The program also serves a limited number of international students whose
primary goals are to improve their skills in the English language and to
learn more about the United States. Finally, recognizing that for most
children summer traditionally means recreation, Cardigan provides a
marvelous range of sports and activities along with its academic
offerings, making the program a special blend of camp and school. |

Fessenden
School Summer Programs
Fessenden springs into summer 2003 with a series of
exciting and fun offerings. We have three new offering this summer: a coed
Art Camp, a Wrestling Camp and a summer Math packet.
In operation for over fifty years, The Fessenden Day Camp is the summer
flagship enrolling over 350 boys and girls. This traditional camp has a
program that keeps campers active and learning including a big swimming
component using our two pools.
English as a Second Language (ESL) Program (5 weeks for boys and girls,
10-15 years old) that draws about fifty coed, international students to
our campus. These ESL students live in the dorms.
A series of one-week and two-week sports camps supplement the summer
offerings. In June, both baseball (boys and girls) and lacrosse (boys and
girls) are available for two weeks (yes, you may select just one week or
both!). In August, a one week coed soccer camp has been operating for over
a decade.
Also on the athletic front, tennis has long been a major part of
Fessenden's sports program. With the recent construction of six new
courts, The Fessenden Tennis Center was launched to help meet the growing
interest in this sport. Unlike most of our summer programs, tennis
operates throughout the year. |
